DARE Elementary

The DARE Elementary School Program is now a ten week program.D.A.R.E.  With added lessons on bullying, prescription drugs and a peer lesson where students from high school (peer counselers) answer questions

Officer Jeff Coia

Officer Daniel Foster

The anti-drug, anti-violence message of the program remains the same but the program has been tailored to meet the needs of today's children.  Each student receives a DARE Planner Notebook with all the lessons inside.  Each lesson is designed for kids to think about issues that may lead them to using drugs and then complete projects in the handbook that helps them re-enforce these ideas and thoughts.  Under the guidance of one of DARE Instructors kids learn a number of ways to say no to drugs and alcohol.  Upon completion of the program each school has a graduation program and celebration.  Each student that successfully completes the program receives a DARE Tee Shirt and DARE Diploma.

During the course of the program our officers hold DARE Dances for students in the program.  Due to the number of kids in the program, we hold three dances, one of which the kids can attend depending on which school they go to.  Prior to the dance an invitation letter is sent home to the parents of the students outlining the procedure for securing a ticket to the dance.

For an overview of each lesson please utilize the link below.
